EMS Logging location
We had a disk failure on our EMC DMX. Since we are hooked to the DMX via FC, I am wondering if we should have gotten an ISEE notification when the disk failed?
All we saw in the syslog was that the volume went offline and a pv link failed. I would have expected to receive a notification but nothing was received.
I need to find the EMS logs from that event to see if EMS even found the failure.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Re: EMS Logging location
Craig,
It should be /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
Thanks,
Siva

Re: EMS Logging location
Hi Craig,
The EMS HW Monitors do not monitor EMC or other virtual disk arrays, so you would not get an EMS notification of disk problems in the EMC. You might see some event logged by one of the FC monitors, depending on exactly what happened.
disk_em is the disk monitor; the data sheet shows the hardware it does and does not support - http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag/ems/emd_disk.htm
You can see EMC arrays are specifically excluded.
There should be monitoring software for the virtual arrays, and it's possible that is connected into ISEE, but it's not an area I know about.
