EMS monitors

Hi,

For cost reasons our ISEE solution will be replaced with the basic EMS monitors.

Any recommendation on what to enable in EMS?
is there a free solution out there to centralize the EMS events where we can filter alerts and misleading events?

Thanks in advance

Re: EMS monitors

I don't understand "cost reasons", but ISEE reads the EMS messages anyway.
You can configure EMS to send SNMp traps or mails to a configured address.
see
/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: EMS monitors

Yes, but what is the best practice to configure EMS to monitor the important stuff and not receive all kinds of alerts that are not useful?

thanks

Let me clarify that ISEE messages are also triggered by EMS itself. There is an interface between EMS and ISEE so whenever there is an event, its been passed to ISEE.
So If ISEE is been removed, in that case also EMS functionality is not going to change , It will continue to work as it was working.
As mentioned above you can configure smtp to get the mails on the interanet.
