EMS reporting errors on fcp

I have a Fiber channel card in an N class server that is not being used. It's a 3740, i am getting errors in EMS that state "value is critical", and "mailed" to root every day. It's at hardware path 0/4/0/0.8. It is showing as claimed, but is saying it's offline. How can i disable this card? I know i can exclude it in the .clcfg file but was wondering if there is a way to just disable it like NIC card so i stop getting mail. I would like to keep it in the system in case of another card failure. Any ideas?

Also, is there a way on the N class to physically link this hardware path to the physical device on the back of the server? I would like to determine for sure if this is the card causing the errors.

i should also add, that i am not using this card. I have two others that are operating. so it is just sitting there with no connections.

Hi

Why not configure EMS not to send the card status to root.

I had a similar problem a while back and S.K. Chan answered it completely for me:

This sometimes happens where there is no actual virtual disk assigned to LUN 0. I have found it to be a red herring.
