EMS restart on reboot
I have EMS installed and configured to monitor all of the hardware on an L3000 server running HPUX 11.0. When I use monconfig to list currently monitored resources everything looks fine and appears to be working. In fact I recently was notified when a CPU failed and had it replaced.
When I reboot all of our other servers, I get 4-5 emails about EMS restart due to reboot listing the different resources being monitored. But when I reboot the L3000, I get only 1 email stating that core_hw is being monitored. I am nearly certain that more resources are being monitored than just core_hw. Monconfig confirms this too.
Is there something special I need to do in order to be email notified about the restart event? I guess it's no big deal whether I receive the email or not, the main objective is just to ensure that that the EMS really is watching everything. I just don't understand why I'm not receiving it.
I have the latest EMS patch (PHSS_23066) installed.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Re: EMS restart on reboot
Hi Tim
Recheck your config for destination and level of notifications, you may find that restarts are set to nil notification on that server.
