EMS: The selected monitor is currently not available
Selecting the Resource Hierarcy
/storage/status/disk_arrays in SAM I always get the response
ERROR: The selected monitor is currently not abailable
Currently BTW. in this context means at least for a couple of hours now.
What can be the problem and how to fix it ??

Re: EMS: The selected monitor is currently not available
I suggest you forget about SAM and start the
program directly from it's source.
# /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig
Have a look at the attached document about EMS
it discusses tapes, but the concept is the
same for setting things up.
Good Luck

Re: EMS: The selected monitor is currently not available
To identify the EMS release in use on your system, perform the
following: In the directory /etc/opt/resmon/lbin run:
$what p_client registrar
p_client:
EMS (A.03.20)
registrar:
EMS (A.03.20)

Re: EMS: The selected monitor is currently not available
You can use SAM to configure the monitor request.
As a prerequisite you should enable monitoring with monconfig.
# /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig
If you did this already, I suggest to disable and enable monitoring with monconfig and retry.
If this wasn't successful, check whether the disk_em process is running. If it does, kill it and retry.
You might want to check the logs in /etc/opt/resmon/log.
It is a good idea to run a recent version of the OnlineDiag bundle and to have patches for EMS 3.20 installed.
