ENABLING DHCP

Hi all!!!

I work on VISUALE 3600 workstation with HP-UX 11.0 and I have a strange problem with DHCP enabling.
I'll try using SAM to enable the DHCP IP address allocation. In SAM window all seems OK( on the proper button is writing DISABLE DHCP ) but after I reboot the workstation I'll find the same button with ENABLE DHCP on it. Similarly in /atc/auto_parms.log I find the message:
DHCP is disbled for: lan0

Do you know what happened and what can I do to eventually manually activate the DHCP mode( files to edit, useful docs, etc. )???

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Re: ENABLING DHCP

Hi Adrian,

The easiest way to enable DHCP is to run

# set_parms initial

Re: ENABLING DHCP

Hi,

Edit the file /etc/rc.config.d/netconf and set appropriate DHCP_ENABLE[NNN] to 1 and reboot the computer.
As far as I understand, in the /etc/hosts file should not be the computer's hostname.

Good luck
