Enabling GD/PHP on HPWS A.1.0.09.01

GD/PHP is supposedly supported, er the product info:

Well, I went to http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/ (thanks guys!) to get the required libraries (per above), uncommented the extension = gd.sl line from /opt/hpws/apache/conf/php.ini, but still no GD functionality (from PHP scripts). Any ideas?
