After two days of taking the longest way around and not finding a sure method I was able to get vxvm enabled and working in an HPUX 11iv2 EOE environment.
I would like to review my process with you all to see if I missed anything or a better way as well as posting the assistance for others.
Steps:
1) vxinstall -execute vxlicrep prior to view current license as vxinstall asks for it ). Make sure to define a hostid or the remaining steps will fail.
2) vxdisk scandisk ( using device=cxtxdx still scans all disks )
3) pvremove /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx any lvm information on previously used LVM disks
4)vdiskadm ( option 1 to initialize disk(s) and create a group.
vxdisk list to check your work.
Now on to creating volumes...
Any comments are welcome.
