Envizex a-series video troubles

I picked up an Envizex a-series X term at a surplus sale and I cannot find a monitor it likes. I've searched around the net and haven't found any useful info.

I've tried hooking it up to a MAG Innovision 1795DX (17") and a Sony 520GS (20") but both of them aren't syncing correctly.

The base beeps (and then beeps twice) and the keyboard LEDs flash, but I can't see anything.

Help!

We use HP a4033a and c2746a.

A search found this on ebay

Re: Envizex a-series video troubles

Hi Brian,

try this:
turn the X terminal on
1. wait for the boot screen and the double-beep,
2. after the double-beep, but before the end of the boot screen press and hold Shift F9
3. when the boot screen disapear, release Shift F9
4. The X terminal is now in factory default mode.

If this doesnt work, I found an old paper, maybe it helps (is attached as jpeg)

It seems as if the Terminal is set up for a monitor with sync on green. These have only three thin wires (Marked red, green, and blue)

Re: Envizex a-series video troubles

Thanks Christian & vincenzo! Between you two, I was able to figure out that holding the spacebar and typing ALT+a 4 digit number would set the monitor type ... and the most
generic HP PC-style monitor is a D1195A

Thanks!
