Envizex terminal

This weekend we HAD to power down everything in our datacenter. We have 2, Envizex terminals that are running B.07.05. The only thing that was done to these was to power them off. Now, I can't get them to boot off of the server. It gets to a point on the initialization where it says "Initializing X server", but in the field below for errors, I'm getting two errors. 1) Invalid File Server: ' ' 2) Failed to load X Server: no route to host
This is very puzzling because I can telnet to the file server from the utilities option. Any ideas???

Thanks,
Sue

Re: Envizex terminal

Sounds like to me that it had DNS info and the DNS server has changed or is unavailable.

Check all the menu options to make sure that the server name is reachable if it is declared by name, the DNS server is available (it has to be in IP form), and that the Xterm info is available on the server. It should download fonts and Xserver stuff.

Re: Envizex terminal

Make sure nobody changed the /etc/bootptab in the meantime and you have a valid entry for the WorkStation.

Re: Envizex terminal

Hi,

like everyone is saying, it seems a network problem but you can telnet to it you say...

Could there be an IP-conflict ? Some name-to-IP resolution problems ? Is the path to the Envizex-configfiles on the fileserver exported ? (/opt/hpxt/enware/xthome/config)

Re: Envizex terminal

Hi,
I recommend you to verify in the Setup menus the following options:
Network
|_ General
| |_ File Server
| |_ Name Server
| |_ Gateway
|_ Ethernet
|_ IP Address
|_ Subnet Mask

Server
|_ Xserver information such as Xserver file

Regards and Good Luck,

Manuel
