I am confused with PA-RISC and IA64 on both HW and OS ppoint of view. I need upgrade the OS from 11.11 to 11.23, my installation hungs during Fileset installation it doesn't even go pass DVD 1. I am not sure if the problem is with the media or I am using a wrong version of OS version. Below is my server HW details
HW Spec:
/root # model
9000/800/L1500-8x
/root # uname -m
9000/800
-------------------------------------
The DVD has the following options:
Enterprise OE-64bit
Foundation OE-64bit
HP-UX 11i Base OS-64bit
Am i using the wrong DVD ?? Does L1500 HW servers support 64bit OS.

Re: EOE 64bit OS in L1500-8x
For PA-RISC and IA64 both the OS media should be different.

SolutionThe L1500 series system is 64 bit PA-RISC.
If I remember correctly it is not supported with 11.31, but is supported with 11.23.
The media however contains both releases. This may be a firmware problem.

The firmware needs an upgrade.
I'm almost 100% certain of it.

but I doubt this is the real problem - IMHO the most likely is the self-burned media, maybe something went wrong during this copy.
Do you remember the relase date of the original?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
