Re: Error during installation

Hi

The file you are attempting to boot from should be open for everybody and isnt

ll /home/tftpdir

Re: Error during installation

Note on Ignite LAN boots:

1) You must boot off the built in LAN, not any add in LAN cards.
2) You need NFS/tftp access to the server you are booting off of.

On the Ignite Server

tail -f /var/adm/syslog.log

Try to connect, and post anything that pops up there during the attempt.

If you see nothing, you have network problems.

Re: Error during installation

Hi,

Two common things to check.

1.) is the client on the same subnet as the ignite server.
2.) are you using the lan port on the core IO

This link from itrc would help you some more,

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000063248794

The doc id is UIUXKBRC00010143.

Here is another useful doc,

This docs id is IGNITEKBRC00001175

Hope this helps.

Re: Error during installation

-7 status means the address you specified for lan boot is not valid or not responding.

Here's a trick I like: at the same boot/firmware prompt, try

SEARCH LAN INSTALL

This command will go query the network and look for any responding Ignite servers. If this command finds nothing, there's a good chance
- you are not connected to the network, or
- your Ignite server is not setup properly
