Error in /var/adm/cron/log
I am running HP-UX 11.11 and are seeing an error in the /var/adm/cron/log file when a user tries to run an at job. The error code returned is "ts=9". The user is not in at.allow, but our at.deny file is empty (the set up on all other servers we have) and it works fine. Can someone tell me what the ts=9 means? The job invoked by the at command does not run, by the way.

Re: Error in /var/adm/cron/log
Quoting from the man page:
" Users are permitted to use the at and batch commands if their user names appear in the file /usr/lib/cron/at.allow. If that file does not exist, users can use at and batch if their names do not appear in the file /usr/lib/cron/at.deny. If neither file exists, only superuser is allowed to submit jobs.If only at.deny exists but is empty, all users can use at and batch."
I would guess that the user is being refused because they are not in the at.allow file and that is what the ts=9 means.

Re: Error in /var/adm/cron/log
Make an entry for the user in /var/adm/cron/cron.allow.
If you have an empty cron.deny file, please remove it.

Re: Error in /var/adm/cron/log
Is the system trusted? Was it recently converted?
If so there is another possible problem.
