Error installing Java JDK

Getting the following when trying to swinstall sdk13_13109_1100.depot. cksum and permissions are ok. Why does it think its on a remote system?

ERROR: Could not access remote file "/opt/java1.3/COPYRIGHT" in software item
"Jdk13.JDK13-COM,r=1.3.1.12.00,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP,fr=1.3.1.12.0
0,fa=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64:/opt/java1.3"
due to an internal error on the remote system.

Looks like permissions problems on the directory.

I don't understand the error.

Was this your install command line?

swinstall -s /full_path/sdk13_13109_1100.depot \*

The error could be the output of a mistake on the command line.

Or try swinstall -i

Hi John,

Verify the integrity of the depoted SW:

swverify -d \* @ /path/to/sdk13_13109_1100.depot

May have a problem.

Hi John,
There's something very wrong here.
The error message indicates the Java version is 1.3.1.12,
yet the depot name indicates the version is 1.3.1.09.
Check the integrity of the depot, and/or download again from http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/java2/sdkrte1_3/downloads/index.html
