Re: Error loading SG Manager via SMH

If the problem is not due to the issue Duncan points out, then one of the more common causes of launch problems is a failure to match supported versions of Apache Tomcat and Java to the Serviceguard Manager plug-in to SMH.

The document titled "Serviceguard/SGeRAC/SMS/Serviceguard Manager Plug-in Compatibility and Feature Matrix, July 2009"
at http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Serviceguard
(under Support Matrixes section) contains a list of supported versions for each version of Serviceguard. There is a column titled, "SG Mgr Plug-in Version".

Re: Error loading SG Manager via SMH

If the customer is using version B.5.5.27.01.01 of tomcat, then this is a known problem. i.e. the one Duncan refers to which requires a support contract to view.

According to the matrix Stephen refers to this version is in theory supported, but there is an incompatability between SMH and that version of tomcat so that is misses a class library which is required.

Either downgrade to tomcat B.5.5.23.02 or upgrade to SMH 3.0.0 (or apply the workaround in the document specified by Duncan if you have access).

If this is not the problem then you need to look for errors in /var/opt/hpsmh/logs/error_log and /var/opt/hpsmh/tomcat/logs/catalina.out
