Re: Error message on new HPUX 11i
have you visited the following link:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/content/hardware/ems/disk_em.htm#17
It explains what that message means and possible actions.
Best regards,

Re: Error message on new HPUX 11i
The last message says it is OK now.
Check with dmesg/syslog.log file. Also check with pvdisplay command. Do you have two controllers going to this disks?
Also check with fcmsutil /dev/tdx.
Check what is the I/O timeout for your disk? Be default it is 60 seconds. If disk is slow, you can increase it to 120 seconds (pvchangte -t 120 /dev/dsk/cxtxdx)

Re: Error message on new HPUX 11i
fyi, dev:1f050000, first two digits are the major number of the device with the error and the remaining 6 digits are the minor number. e.g. 05 - c0; 5 - t5 0 - d0; the remaining digits are device driver dependent. therefore, it should be c5t0d0 having some problem.
# lsdev -b 31 (where 1f is 31 in hexadecimal)
returns disk as the likely suspect.
but as RAC has mentioned, the syslog output shows that this problem is over but do take his advice.
regards.
