error message while igniting...

i made an ignite image and when i tried igniting the machine : i get the following error message : /opt/ignite/bin/CONFIG.

It indicated some syntax errors and asked me to run instl_adm.I remade the ignite assuming it was an error in the creation of the config file by save_config.

But, i got the message again.

i need to prepare the ignite ASAP for tomorrow's load.

Thanxs,
Suchita

Re: error message while igniting...

I'd download ignite latest release:

http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/
although I've heard of this before somewhere, possibly here on the forums..
Are you restoring to the same system, I recall it having something to do with installing on different architecture (CPU related if I recall) - although I could be completely off the ball here..

Later,
Bill
It works for me (tm)

Re: error message while igniting...

Hello Suchita,

What version of Ignite are you running? There is a known issue with B.3.5.89. When you run the command on your Ignite server you should see something like the following:

# instl_adm -T
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.10.20/config
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.10.20/hw_patches_cfg
* Checking file: /var/opt/ignite/config.local
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.00/config
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.00/hw_patches_cfg
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.11/config
* Checking file: /opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.11/hw_patches_cfg

In your case do you see:

# instl_adm -T
ERROR: line 198: Illegal character: "M"
ERROR: line 198: syntax error
ERROR: Problems were encountered while parsing config file:
instl_adm: Config file: cannot be parsed.

If so, you need to check the config file it complains about and post us the output so we can determine what is happening.
