Error Msgs when installing OS from CD

I'm not sure if I need to enter a new message for additional questions. This is my first time using this forum. Anyway, I work with an HP9000 800 K220 with HPUX 10.20.. I have been working with HP phone support. They are baffled about my problem. I did install the OS from CD and when I tried to use the autoloader or even the CD Rom now neither work. FYI, I noticed that the device file names were different and the hardware path. Ex.: my CD was c5t2d0 HWPath 10/12/5.2.0 and is now c4t2d0 HWP 10/12/5.0. Do you know if this would cause an I/O error? HP has had me recreate the files several times with no luck. I have nothing to lose, so I'm reinstalling the OS using BO ALT (path) 10/12/5.2 ISL IPL Interact (No) and I received an error of error reading IPL. Bad LIF Magic. I tried again using BO ALT 10/12/5.0 ISL and received an error of cannot find ENTRY_TEST. Fail to initialize. I'm in panic mode now. With HP's help yesterday they think it might be a hardware problem. I'm waiting on a new autoloader with controller card. Any help, suggestions or other contacts would be greatly appreciated. Even on site consultant help. Thanks Robin

Re: Error Msgs when installing OS from CD

Thank you. The link you gave me did help determine it is a -4 Unrecoverable Hardware Error. It just seems coincidental that the primary boot drive went bad and then the autoloader and the CD-Rom. (New Machine!)
Thanks again. Robin
