Error reported when using insf
# insf -eH 0/6/1/0.2.0
insf: Unable to load the driver: krm
insf: Unable to load the driver: drmfgl
insf: Unable to load the driver: drmfglrx
insf: Unable to load the driver: gvid_him_cons
insf: Installing special files for stape instance 0 address 0/6/1/0.2.0
insf: Unable to unload the driver: krm
insf: Unable to unload the driver: drmfgl

Anyway, device files are eventually created.

have you had a look in your /etc/rc.log file for any warnings?
