error
Welcome to dr_dt. I will examine your system to determine if HP CDE
can function properly. If I find problems or concerns, or just want
to supply some information, I will issue INFO/WARNING/ERROR statements.
I will not make any changes myself, but might suggest that you change
something. If you are not sure if a particular change should be made,
check with your system administrator.
Here's to your health!
INFO: A uname produces the following information:
HP-UX automat B.10.20 A 9000/778 2008043454 two-user license
*** No address information is available for "automat"
ERROR: The hostname of your system returned by the command
"hostname" does not agree with the name returned by
"nslookup". The hostname should be assigned to the
environment variable HOSTNAME in the file
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf.
INFO: Checking some networking on your system...
INFO: Your system currently has the following lan hardware installed,
as reported by the '/etc/lanscan' command:
Hardware Station Crd Hardware Net-Interface NM MAC HP DLPI Mjr
Path Address In# State NameUnit State ID Type Support Num
8/0/20/0 0x0060B0EBBBA7 0 UP lan0 UP 4 ETHER Yes 75
INFO: The following is the current configuration information for
each of your lan cards, as reported by the '/etc/ifconfig'
command:
lan0: flags=863
inet 192.9.202.94 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.9.202.255
WARNING: The permissions on /etc/hosts do not match the correct
permissions for the file. If you are running NameServer
(/etc/named) the /etc/hosts file is just used as a backup,
but if the NameServer fails, incorrect permissions on
/etc/hosts can be a problem. The file should be
owner = bin, group = bin, and have permissions of
" -r--r--r--".
