Errors trying to use SCM
When I try a simple command like BDF in SCM, the activities all lock up. I have to terminate the task using the taskmanager. When I looked at the error_log it says the following:
[Thu May 23 10:42:36 2002] [error] [client 145.7.65.188] File does not exist: /opt/webadmin/mx/hp/obam/ObamBeanInfo.class

I seem to be missing some files. A find on the complete system also didnot come up with results.
When I read the messages, it looks as though it tries to fire up a X window ???
For the Win2K and SCM users: the security database has to be placed in "My Documents".
Who can tell me where those files are/ have gone.

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
http://host:1188/
the java window should open, however, if java classes are missing this would fail.
What version do you have installed?
I first came across problems a while ago, and posted the install setup here:
It may or may not help:

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
When using the X interface (scmgr), it all works. Only the web interface gives troubles.
I checked the other message you refered to, and it seems that I'm set oke.
I installed SCM from the latest application CD's (March 2002).

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
Try with WinNT or 98.. Although 2K should work..
It may be fussy on your client jre. You need to d/load and install a JRE before it'll work at all.

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
I do get a userid/password challenge. When I enter I even get the nodes group/nodes/tools/users display. When I select a bdf (to test) and press Ok button, everything freezes with no error display or anything else.

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
What is in /tmp/Xerr
can you tail -f the error logs while you examine?
Anything in any other logs.. dmesg/syslog?

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
Thanks for your patience.
I rebooted the server at about 14.00 local time.
The reboot had no effect on the errors. This is what I'm seeing:

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
Nobody replied, but I know what's going on:
If you want to use the webinterface, THEN YOU HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER (NOT HP PRODUCT) from a company called GraphOn.
SHAME ON YOU HP FOR NOT TELLING.
Shame on HP again ofor not supporting Windows 2000.
Who is still using 3.51 ? Some servers, but no office PC...
So be aware that SCM is not as free as promissed !

Re: Errors trying to use SCM
I am getting the same error with SCM 2.05 on HP-UX 11.00 after installing from CD.
I do not have the same problem with SCM from the 11i apps cd March 2001 on 11i.
It does kind of suck.
There are no comments to it.
Here's my JRE errors for ref:
