SolutionPost hpvmstatus -vP your_vm
Post a screen shot of the hardware tab from the Ignite installer.
Maybe a screen shot of the LVM tab of the Ignite installer.
If you are cloning another OS with Ignite, what is the required size.
This all depends on what you are doing, what is included with the image you are installing, what is the configuration of the image you are installing. e.g. trying to assign 36GB of primary swap space to a 40GB backingstore will not leave any room for the os.

Re: Errors while installing OS=11.23 on HPVM
What ever storage the installer sees is obviously not enough or does not even exist. Either fix the storage or review the lvol sizes for some anomoly. If we cannot see what you are doing then we cannot help. Sorry.

Re: Errors while installing OS=11.23 on HPVM
Which disk do you use ? If you installed HPUX on the c0t0d0(in the VM), sure there's not enough place, try to use c0t2d0.
Be careful when you select the disk in the menu.
Let us know.
Hope this helps

If I can know how to capture the above two screen shots... I will do that and post it here.
Thank you..

Re: Errors while installing OS=11.23 on HPVM
It is a HPVM. You try to remove all other partitions except /stand, /, swap. Assign all space /stand = 1792, swap = double of RAM/equally, / = rest of the space available. It should work.
Please check the Host Swap Size in HPVM. VM hosts required SWAP minimum 150 % of RAM Size.

Kapil

Re: Errors while installing OS=11.23 on HPVM
First to be sure you're using the good disk :
hpvmmodify -P VM03A -d disk:scsi:0,0,0:lv:/dev/vg00/rlvol9
hpvmmodify -P VM03A -d disk:scsi:0,0,2:lv:/dev/vg00/rlvol10
hpvmmodify -P VM03A -a disk:scsi:0,0,0:lv:/dev/vg00/rlvol10
hpvmmodify -P VM03A -a disk:scsi:0,0,2:lv:/dev/vg00/rlvol9
After that your vm should have the disk of 40 Go as c0t0d0 and the other as c0t2d0(only 10Go).
We need to be sure you're using the bigger and it's according to me safer to have it as first one to avoid error in the futur.
When you're in the "File System" part of the installation menu change all the flag indicating "Size: [Range MB ->]" for fixed one and then assign them enough space.
Let us know
Hope this helps
