Hello everyone,
Is the lvmtab file static or dynamic, If I deactivate a volume group will it remove the entry from the /etc/lvmtab??
Thanks in advance!

Re: /etc/lvmtab file
Well if you de-activate a volume group it isn't removed from lvmtab, but I wouldn't class it as a truly "static" file - it can and does change - every time I add or remove a volume group it is changed, and even if I export a volume group it is removed from lvmtab.
I am an HPE Employee

Re: /etc/lvmtab file
Hi,
Yes /etc/lvmtab file entries are dynamic and once you deactivate the vg ,file updates immediately but isn't remove the entry from the /etc/lvmtab file as you are just deactivating VG.
