SolutionTo convert the system use sam, but read first all the remarks on this using google or this forum regarding Trusted system.

you will need 11.11
The /etc/shadow file is not applicable to a system which has been converted to a trusted system
There are many features more than the shadow file with making the system trusted.

Re: /etc/shadow
Inorder to have shadow files in HPUX you need to have shadow utility. By default /etc/shadow shall not be there.
Then use can use #pwconv command to create shadow files.
But make the system as trusted if you are searching shadow file for security.
For details, you can visit www.docs.hp.com and search for shadow utility
