Re: ethereal installation in hpux
Have you installed the packages listed in "Run-time Dependencies" in the Porting Archive's package catalog (here: http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Gtk/Applications/ethereal-0.10.11/ )

Re: ethereal installation in hpux
Yes - you must install them all.
BTW - why aren't you going with the newer 0.10.14 version - here:
http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Gtk/Applications/ethereal-0.10.14/
Also make sure you have the proper version as there diff vers for 11.23 IA, 11.23 PA, & 11.11
You also might want to lookover the install README doc - here:
http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Gtk/Applications/ethereal-0.10.14/readme.html

Jeff

Re: ethereal installation in hpux
I've found a number of issues like this from the Archive and port center. Just had almost the same thing with tcpdump this morning.
The solution is to use Internet Express. HP did real Q&A on this stuff.
