Ethernet & Tocken Ring cards on an HP Unix Server
I was wondering if it is possible to install both an Ethernet Card & a token ring card on an HP server?
Is it possible if so what should I be concerned about? Are there any conflicts that may occur or can both cards co-exist. I am new to HP unix servers admin.
Thanks

Re: Ethernet & Tocken Ring cards on an HP Unix Server
Sure, you can definitely have both cards. They each use different drivers, but that wouldn't be a problem anyway.
When you configure them, just make sure you don't assign the same IP address to both of them. In fact, it would probably be best if the two cards were on distinctly different subnets.

Re: Ethernet & Tocken Ring cards on an HP Unix Server
In my experience, setting up the Token ring card and all the "stuff" that goes with it was, well, bordering on the painful. Give yourself plenty of time to set everything up.
