Eva disk presentation - HP11.00
Hopefully somebody will have the answer to this little problem I'm having:
We currently have xp disks on our HP server which is running HP11.00 with all patches installed. We wish to migrate to eva but when presenting a 130gb lun it is not being seen on the server.
EVA is a EVA 8000 with latest firmware and Command View 9.1
HP Server is a K380 running HP 11.00.
(On our other HP servers but running HP 11.11 or HP11.23 all is fine)
Kind Regards,
Mark P.

Re: Eva disk presentation - HP11.00
Normally you must discover the new VDisk presented to your box by an ioscan -fnCdisk also you need install new disk special fileyps using insf command, "insf -e" reinstalls device files for all and existing devices including the new devices, you could be selective by device class, HW path, etc (man insf).
At ioscan command output you will see a number of the disk devices by each access path.

Re: Eva disk presentation - HP11.00
run the following commands and share.
fcmsutil /dev/fcd0 get remote all
ioscan -fnC disk | grep -i hsv
/dev/fcd0 represents the FC HBA on which you did presentation. your's may be different.
if you get a "no device found as a reply of the first command then probably you may also check the FC zones and zone configuration.
one more suggession - if you dont have any other SAN tape/disk on the HBA, you can reset it using fcmsutil.
