Event monitor media failure on root vol
I am getting this warning ocassionaly on root vol. Question would anything fix this other than replace drive.Would rewriting root from ignite tape help? Some of my reading indicates you can not re-map critical root files is that so?
Event 100137
Code:0x0c Qualifier:0x02 Key:0x03 Status:0xXX
Device: ALL
Severity: CRITICAL
Event Summary: Media failure
Problem Description: The device was unsuccessful in writing the data for the current I/O request. Reallocating the data to a spare area on the medium was attempted, but failed. Damage to or loss of data has likely occurred.
Probable Cause / Recommended Action: Rewriting the data is recommended. The medium in the device is flawed. If the medium is removable, replace the medium with a fresh one.
Alternatively, the marginal area on the medium can be re-mapped to use a spare area on the medium manually.

Re: Event monitor media failure on root vol
Hi Kim,
Seem like you have a media problem on the root disk. A disk replacement will be the best solution, however a reload of OS is not a bad idea.
You can give it a try.
Thanks
