Exceed 2008 - xdmcp login to hp-ux 11i
A weird problem. Have 3 win-xp pc's and 2 hp-ux 11i workstations, on all pc's Exceed was working fine until this weekend.
Now : Pc1 can exceed-login to both hp-ux workstations.
pc2 and pc3 can ONLY log onto hp-ux1 machine.
All pc's can see both hp-ux machines (have put in ip+hostname in hosts-file).
so pc1 : works on both hp-ux
pc2+pc3 can see all hp-ux but only remote login to one of them.
When choosing hp-ux2, nothing happen (no login-windows or anything).
Can telnet to both machines from all pc's.

If you want to try free version of powerful GUI Manager I recommend you to use MobaXterm.

Re: Exceed 2008 - xdmcp login to hp-ux 11i
We have been using Exceed for 10+ years and are using it on over 4-5 different locations and have done so without any major problems until now.
Most likely this is caused by a tiny 'change' to a setting, either on server or pc, but I dont think it will be serious enough to consider changing to a different solution ;-)
best regards

if 11iv3, CDE is NOT installed by default and hence no response from the XMDP

Re: Exceed 2008 - xdmcp login to hp-ux 11i
I met the same problem.
But i tried the workaround-solution, it can not solve my problem.
I have 2 Windows server 2008 based systems, and 2 HP servers.
I just put the Windows server IP + hostname in /etc/hosts...no help...
Did you have any other methods??
Thanks!
