Excursion and SSH

Several terminal emulators / x-windows packages for Windows desktops now have SSH client functionality bundled in. As far as I know, Excursion (bundled with the Pathworks product) does not have this capability. I'd like to know if this product will include SSH at some time (or if it will even be supported/continued/etc).

Any feedback appreciated.

Re: Excursion and SSH

You don't need a newer version of your X-Window System server.

You just need to install PuTTY (version 0.52), and activate X11 port forwarding.

I use it everyday with Exceed, and it works like a breeze.

Re: Excursion and SSH

Hi Randy,

another (free) choice would be the SSH from the CygWin project:
http://source.redhat.com/cygwin
It's free, fast, stable, works with Reflection/X and eXceed - what do you want more?

Re: Excursion and SSH

Thanks for the responses. I realize there are some good ssh options out there that will work with existing products. We're opting to not add in any 3rd party SSH s/w since the current versions of Exceed (8.0) and Reflection (10.0)have this built-in (which we really like -- a simple upgrade under maintenance does it).

We're just thinking of tossing Excursion out if it does not fit this model.

Thanks again for the feedback...
