Execution of I-DEAS ended abnormally

I run CAD software I-DEAS on a HPUX B1000 workstation with HPUX 10.20. 256 mb ram and 512 for swap. The workstation NFS mounts a L1000 server and starts the CAD.
Software runs OK until recently the CAD software terminates abnormally every 2 drawing that is sendt to plot.
The following message is dumped to a error.out file

MasWarn - Memory Area Subsystem Warning: 2
Routine: masalbl Area ID: Drafting MemAlloc

Re: Execution of I-DEAS ended abnormally

My first guess is that you are exhausting swap space.

What version of I-DEAS? I'm guessing 7 or 8. If you are running 9, then I see your problem immediately ... I-DEAS 9 and above *require* HP-UX 11.x. It's not supported on 10.x

If you are on 7 or 8, make sure you are on the latest "m" release. m4 is the latest for 8. (I can't recall what the last one for 7 was).

Indeed. Having a well-patched OS is critical!
