I have a HP itanium server 11.23. I would like to change my hostname above 8 characters. But i was unable to find the "expanded_node_host_names " module.
Any Suggestions

Re: expanded_node_host_names kernel module not found
use this command to change the hostname but be careful !!!!
# /sbin/set_parms hostname
...to set the server's hostname. A reboot will occur.
Regards,
Jits

Solutionhttp://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=NodeHostNameXpnd
Node and Host Name Expansion
Overview
The optional Node and Host Name Expansion product bundle (NodeHostNameXpnd, revision B.11.23.01) contains a product (NodeHostXpndEnbl, revision B.11.23.01) which allows the system administrator to set expanded node and host names.
Without this product, node names may be up to 8 bytes and host names up to 64 bytes. With the product, they may be up to 255 bytes each.
This version of the product is intended for customers who have formally contacted HP about their need for longer node and host names.
