Extend a vdisk on a disk group cfs/cvm with service guard.

Hello,

I want to know if we can grow online the size of a disc in an existing dg (CFS/CVM) in ServiceGuard 11.17 environment.

The disc is a vdisk on an EVA4100.

thanks a lot.

I do not have much experience with CFS under HPUX but, ServiceGuard does not care about the size of any volume/filesystem, that is controlled by the package control script. If Veritas software allows you to increase the size of the filesystem, serviceguard will go with it merrily.

Shalom David,

I would be careful about playing with a cluster lock disk of a live cluster.

I see no reason why you can't increase the size though.

Re: Extend a vdisk on a disk group cfs/cvm with service guard.

Hello,

I think, I found the solution :

To check, we should see the disk with the command :
# vxdisk list

With the command :
# vxdg -g cfsdg1 free
we should see the free space.

Now, the command :
# vxdisk -g cfsdg1 resize
should pick up the new size.

With the command :
# vxdg -g cfsdg1 free
we should see the difference.

Best Regards
David

The cluster lock disk is under LVM Volume Group and not on a CFS/CVM DiskGroup .

Thanks Guys.
