Fail to unzip gcc file from Merijin's sites
When I tried to unzip gcc file by using:
bzip2 -d
It seems that the gcc file that I downloaded was in text format. I used all kind ways to download it to my PC: double clicked the file or using 'save link target as...' or shift + click the file, but all did not work.
Any help are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Liping

Re: Fail to unzip gcc file from Merijin's sites
Just for grins, I went out and got that file and its solid. There server isn't the fastest on earth, but it downloads consistently.
I recommend you make sure your Internet connection is valid, and make sure the system you are downloading to is in good shape.
Make sure you are using a current browser or ftp tool. For a browser, I'd recommmend this for HP-UX:
mozilla 1.4
For 10.20 you'll need to get the source/tar file from http://www.mozilla.org
For the PC, I'd also recommend mozilla.
Make sure there is adequate disk space on the target filesystem.

Re: Fail to unzip gcc file from Merijin's sites
Thanks for your quick reply.
It sounds silly, but it's true. I have spent 2 days to try downloading gcc. I tried mozilla 1.4, netscape, and internet explorer. Actually I am not new for downloading things, for past several years, I downloaded many soft wares for both PC and HP. But this time, I desperately need help.
For some reason, gcc always in text format for my side.
Thanks,
