Re: Failback_policy to be changed

In your your pkg.ascii file there is an option:
FAILBACK_POLICY

You set this to be:
FAILBACK_POLICY MANUAL

That's all it takes. Then it is always best to do a cmcheckconf -v -P pkg.ascii to make sure your package is ok and then a cmapplyconf -v -P pkg.ascii

As for which policy is best....well most folks tend to lean to MANUAL. Think about it, if you had a box having hardware issues going up and down...Your package will then be playing like a yoyo, back and forth. It is better to control the situation by only failing forward. Then put your package back to where you want it, when you have confirmed all is solid first !

Re: Failback_policy to be changed

You can do it while the package is running - see the table at the bottom of this page in the SG manual:

Re: Failback_policy to be changed

so after changing this parameters on both nodes ,i should do cmcheckconf -v -P pkg.ascii and then a cmapplyconf -v -P pkg.ascii ???.

Re: Failback_policy to be changed

On both nodes; Not required only on one node which is holding package configuration file as only pkgname.cntl file is the one which is required on both nodes.

so you update pkg conf file at one node and run cmcheckconf followed by cmapplyconf
:-)

no need to put package/cluster down for this!!
