Here is the procedure to start the process and message coming out.
on the host type:
# ./install/Toggle primary start
on the host that is currently standby, as root
# ./install/Toggle standby start

Message coming out
------------------
Running Switchover Toggle

Dir that was missing on the Server
----------------------------------
/usr/sbin/switch/switchheartb

Re: Failed to start the heart beat process

Hi,
The commands whatever you mention is not at all related with MC Service Guard. I think your systems are configured with Switch Over Unix which is obselete and not at all related with MC/SG .

If this is the case, is there anyway to recover this dir and those files.

Re: Failed to start the heart beat process

Hi,
I remember in Switch over Unix only one server is active at a given point of time and the other is idle.
Try to copy from the other server or Install the switch over unix software( Few KBs only) on a dummy system and copy the binaries.

Sorry that both Server lost the file. I think someone delete it intentionally. Is there any way to get this file?

Re: Failed to start the heart beat process

Hi,
Normally the Switch/Over UX used to come on dds tape media and I remember it requires the CODEWORD. Find for the Switch/Over UX Media and install it on a test server and copy the directories. You can get the codewords from the /var/adm/sw/.codewords file on your servers where Switch/Over unix was installed earlier.
