Re: failin to start dtterm in GUI.
Which dtterm you are clicking ? Another way of opeing a dtterm is
#dtterm & (Your display should be exported correctly i.e w.x.y.x:n.0 (This n is Important)
It should correspond to your current session. See on top of your xbrowser screen.

Re: failin to start dtterm in GUI.
when i click on terminal application in GUI, it doesnt show up. It was working earlier.
I read somewhere that we need to delete some file in .dt directory.

Re: failin to start dtterm in GUI.
I am not sure which file you should remove so look in $HOME/.dt directory of that user and compare with some other working machine/user.
Take backup before removing.
Is it working through some other users?

Re: failin to start dtterm in GUI.
CDE will log errors to $HOME/.dt/errorlog
but if you were running out of pty's etc it might show a similar problem, do you have terminal access to the host.... ? any clues in syslog.log and how many terminal and window client sessions do you have running exactly ?
What h/w is involved ... is this local or remote Xsession ?

Re: failin to start dtterm in GUI.
binary removed, cde action definition file dtterm.dt hosed, shell history file not local amd if using NFS mounted $HOME + ksh, lack of ptys, $HOME or $TMP = 100 % etc ...
