Fbackup/ACL's
I an running an rp with oracle. We use fbackup just for nightly backups to tape in case our normal bu fails. I understand ACL's. However, why am I getting the following error when I thought I was not using ACL support on this system.
fbackup(1205): Cannot get ACL information for file
Running 11.0 Conservative patch approach.
10x RPM

Re: Fbackup/ACL's
Yes Sanjay, I saw the thread also. I do remember seeing this issue a long while back and I believe it was resolved with a patch.
Do you think this is causing any errors on the tape, that is, is all my data on tape valid.

Re: Fbackup/ACL's
I don't think it is causing any errors on the tape. Let another post confirm this.
-A: Do not back up optional entries of access control lists (ACLs) for files. Normally, all mode information is backed up including the optional ACL entries. With the -A option, the summary mode information (as returned by stat()) is backed up. Use this option when backing up files from a system that contains ACLs to be recovered on a system that does not understand ACLs (see acl(5) ).
