fbackup error

Hi databackup has complete, but at the end of the session I receive the error
fbackup(1005): run time: 8005 seconds
fbackup(3055): total file blocks read for backup: 23814724
fbackup(3056): total blocks written to output file /dev/rmt/0m: 24894992
fbackup(1030): warnings encountered during backup

20/02/02 17:54:08 WARNING: fbackup reports FSM error(s)

Any ideas,

Hi Steven,

The message fbackup warnings during backup is seen when fbackup is trying to backup files which are in use. so fbackup may or may nopt have backed up the file. That is the warning.

/etc/sam/br/fbackup_config

contains :-
blocksperrecord 32
records 32
checkpointfreq 32
readerprocesses 2
maxretries 10
retrylimit 5000000
maxvoluses 100


Increase maxretries and monitor it.

Hi Steve,

Another thing to check up is your backup drive. fbackup will give you FSM error, when
a) there is a read/write error in the drive
b) the drive is not cleaned
c) the device file compatibility
