fbackup/frecover issue
I have a server which takes approx 2 hrs to backup with fbackup and works fine. When I run frecover to perform verify this normally works in 3-4 hours but recently took 6-7 hours, which caused issues for the client. Does anybody know why this is the case, or point to possible problems. No logs show errors of any sort. Thanks for any comments. PS we tried cleaning heads of
dlt8000 and used new tape but problem reoccurred next evening.

Re: fbackup/frecover issue
Shalom,
Probably the amount of data has increased or the performance of the disk has decreased.
You can check for bottlenecks with http://www.hpux.ws/system.perf.sh
It may be a tape drive problem but that would generate errors. You may want to run xstm/mstm or cstm and see about finding hardware errors or try a different tape drive.
/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log says nothing?

Stephen
Thanks for your reply. I cant find anything relevant in the syslog.log file. The problem may disappear in the next night or 2 as it has in the past. I will look at your other suggestions.
Thank you.
