Fbackup/Frecover Problems
I'm using Fbackup/Frecover on HPUX 10.20 with a Sony AIT drive. During Frecover, I get this message:
frecover(5401): Volume 1 completed.
frecover(5404): Press return when the next volume is ready on /dev/rmt/4m:
frecover(5423): incorrect volume mounted;
frecover(5424): expected volume 2, and got 1
frecover(5433): Do you wish to continue using this volume? [yes no] frecover(5427): unable to open controlling terminal
The backup resides entirely on one tape. There is no second volume to mount. I have had the drive replaced as well as the media so I don't think that this would be a read/write problem.
Here is the command that I use:
frecover -xvf /dev/rmt/3m -G
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon

Re: Fbackup/Frecover Problems
Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, this happens on ALL of my tapes. I've cleaned the drive, switched media, and replaced the drive with another drive. The kicker is, I have a DLT drive that this works fine with. I don't want to give up the speed of the AIT but now, I don't have much choice. Any suggestions?

Re: Fbackup/Frecover Problems
Try just getting the index from the tape and maybe that will give you some idea of what's there on the tape.
