fbackup warning

I am getting messages similar to:
fbackup(1102): WARNING: unable to stat file /var/spool/sockets/pwgr/client5685
28 times followed by messages similar to:

fbackup(3005): WARNING: file number 232820 was NOT backed up
also 28 times
Are these anything to be concerned about?

Re: fbackup warning

Hi Tony,
My guess is that you are fbackup'ing a "live" filesystem. Meaning that between the moment that fbackup looks at what is present in the directory and the moment that fbackup is actually trying to backup the file ... the file has disappeared because it's only temporary.
We occasionally have the same "problem" with ignitebackups (usually on the /tmp directory).
If the above is the case ... there is no need to worry.

Re: fbackup warning

Hi,

The messages are caused by temporary files being deleted before being backed up and can be ignored.

Re: fbackup warning

This message is caused by files that are temporary. Generally this happens when the backup starts, it gets a list of files and when it attempts to back it up it has been removed.

Re: fbackup warning

When you start fbackup, it scans the directories given in the include and
exclude lists and save to an index of the files.

At the moment fbackup actually tries to write this file to the tape.
If the file has been deleted in the mean time, fbackup will issue this warning.
I believe that the file "/var/spool/sockets/pwgr/client5685" may be temporary file, and has been removed in the time fbackup tries to access it.
So you may ignore these messages.
