Re: FC card issue ??!
You can use rad/olrad command to find the slot address of the card. You can easily map the slot address with h/w path.
#rad -q
or
#olrad -q

This is how you should interpret the slot address.

0-1-3-3 2/0/3/1 63 133 N/A On Yes No Yes N/A PCI-X N/A
# rad -q

0-0-0-1 0/0/8/0 64 66 On Yes No Yes
0-0-0-2 0/0/10/0 80 66 On Yes No Yes

Re: FC card issue ??!
Are you sure you're looking in the right place?
If this is a rp8420 then hardware path 1/0/8/1/0/4/0 is *not* in a Server Expansion Unit (SEU), It's in the server main chassis.
So looking at the hardware path:
1/0/8 = Slot 1 attached to Cell 1 (so that's the 9th slot along reading from left to right looking at the back of the server - the first 8 slots are attached to Cell 0)
1 = This is a PCI-X slot (older rp8400 with PCI cages this value would be 0)
0/4/0 = This is a combo card with a PCI bridge in it - looking at the rest of your output we can see that this is a A9784A which is a 2GbFC/GbE combo card.
So you need to look in the 9th slot along (left to right) of the main server chassis for a card with a LC and RJ45 port.

Re: FC card issue ??!
yes i am sure this the output of rad command
# rad -q
Driver(s)
Slot Path Bus Max Spd Pwr Occu Susp Capable Max Mode
Num Spd Mode
0-0-1-1 1/0/8/1 64 133 133 On Yes No Yes PCI-X PCI-X
0-0-1-2 1/0/10/1 80 133 133 On Yes No Yes PCI-X PCI-X
0-0-1-3 1/0/12/1 96 133 66 On Yes No Yes PCI-X PCI
0-0-1-4 1/0/14/1 112 133 66 On Yes No Yes PCI-X PCI
0-0-1-5 1/0/6/1 48 133 133 On Yes No Yes PCI-X PCI-X
0-0-1-6 1/0/4/1 32 133 66 Off No N/A N/A PCI-X PCI
0-0-1-7 1/0/2/1 16 133 66 Off No N/A N/A PCI-X PCI
0-0-1-8 1/0/1/1 8 133 66 Off No N/A N/A PCI-X PCI
and by matching with Hardware Path is = 1/0/8/1/0/4/0, i found the 0-0-1-1 is a place of a FC card, and i am see the LED of FC card is blinking (orange color).
thanks

Re: FC card issue ??!
0-0-1-1 =
0 = Cab 0 (i.e. the main server enclosure, not the SEU)
0 = Bay 0 - the rp8420 has only 1 IO bay which holds 2 8 slot chassis (a superdome cabinet has 2 bays)
1 = Chassis 1 (i.e. the 2md 8 slot chassis)
1 = Slot 1
So as I said, that's the 9th card along from right to left looking at the back of the server. Slots 1-8 are for chassis 0.
You are *absolutely* sure thats the slot you are looking at?

Re: FC card issue ??!
yes i am sure it is a second slot from left to right in chassis 1, and the 8 slot from right to left in chassis 1.
and this I/O expansion has 16 slot in 2 cabinet and one bay 0 and 2 chassis.
and it is blinking (orange and green color).

Re: FC card issue ??!
Also that rad O/p Shows that the card is powered on , Olar capable.
If the Orange LED is Glowing at the FC Port of the card then high cahnces
This seems to be a Link issue, first need to check with a good cable if the link comes up.
and u can see an ONLINE in the fcmsutil /dev/fcd0 O/p.
