FC connect moved to another FC switch

Hello,

We have moved the fiber connection on a RX2620 server into a new fiber switch. Now when it try to boot primary. It errors

HP_UX primary boot: hw address not found

I did find the new hw address and I edited the path in EFI and it gives the same error.

Any ideas would be awesome!

Thanks for your time. Your help is always appreciated.

Re: FC connect moved to another FC switch

Shalom,

Most likely the SAN administrator has not zoned it correctly and presented the LUN properly to the system.

In addition, if the LUN number is not the same on the new switch, this could be making the problem.

Before doing a lot of work, getting the new configuration from the SAN people is critical.

The rx2620 has internal disks, it might be better to install the system to boot off these disks and use the SAN for data, not booting.

Re: FC connect moved to another FC switch

Hi,
I will suggest the same please use internal disk for boot ans Use SAN for DATA.
Cause there is dependency factor and manage to critical.
You have to face connectivity issue and SAN issue, this is I think unneccessary.
