I being a beginner in HP-UX just wanted to know is the below command in someway usefull for the error.


CURRENT MONITOR DATA:

Description of Error:


lbolt value: 426390311

Unable to access previously accessed target
nport ID = 0xa97650


Probable Cause / Recommended Action:

An attempt to re-open a device which had been opened earlier
has failed.
There should be additional logging messages which will
allow diagnosis of the problem.

The command I ran was :

#fcmsutil /dev/td9 devstat 0xa97650

Hi,

the system "remembers" a device with nport ID = 0xa97650. Did you exchange something, e.g. a FC disk (not in an array)?

Above message means that device at nport ID is no longer available. Reasons could be that disk has been physically moved to another slot in disk array so new nportID would be assigned to it or it has gone bad.

Hi Amit,

That message suggests there should be other events logged which should give more details. Were there any in event.log at the same time, possibly from a different monitor?

Also, what version of the OnlineDiags do you have (it shows up as 'STM Version' in the full version of the message you have shown a portion of).
