Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Re: Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Full of extremely valuable information. Site lacks a full compliment of documents in PDF format though. It is often discouraging to find documentation that is only available in HTML format. Also there is no presence of cookbooks and customer equivalent of CE handbooks.

Mike

Re: Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Hi Hermanth,

We found a problem in this document (5187-2725 Installation and update Guide HPUX 11i version 2 operating environments) in section "Features Unavailable in HP-UX 11i V2".

It states in the document on page 23:

In comparison with HP-UX 11i v1 or HP-UX 11i v1.6, HP-UX 11i v2 does not provide support for the following:

"Business Copy/BCV/snapshot features on high-end disk arrays"

I find this must be an incorrect statement, when it can be done and was supported before.

It also states at the bottom of the same page "Additional information about these changes, limitations, and differences between HP-UX 11i v1.6 (B.11.22) and HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) are described further in the HP-UX 11i Version 2 Release Notes", yet there is no mention that I can find in the release notes on this subject.

Please save me from confusion.

Cheers
Michael

Re: Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Speaking of docs.hp.com, it is very useful, and it always is one of my important resources when I need some thing from HP. I have been using it for the recent four years, so far so good, no complain, no concern at all.

In a word, it is a very good resource for me. Thanks for your great work!

Hello Michael,

You are right! The statement is incorrect. It will be fixed in the next version.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Re: Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Hi Hemanth,

It would be really great if you could revamp the search engine.

Or atleast, you can improve the way the search results are displayed. Infact, Openview documentation web page (http://ovweb.external.hp.com/lpe/doc_serv/)has a very nice UI. It would be great if you could use the same kind of UI even here.

Re: Feedback on HP Documentation Website

Hi

I can never seem to find what I am looking for yesterday i wanted to read a J210 manual but was unable to find one. Its probably there but if I cant find it its not a lot of use to me. I think it would be good if there was some form of index to all the manuals by class model ...
