Fibre Channel

Hi everyone! I hope you could help me with this. We are currently using Fibre Channel instead of an ordinary lan card. What network performance tool can I use to get information? lanadmin and other tools don't work with Fibre Channel

What tool and where can I get it. Thanks in advance!

Re: Fibre Channel

Hmm, lanadmin works with our Fiber lan cards no problem. All you have to do is change the ppa to that of one of your fiber cards (lanadmin -> lan -> ppa ) then you can do display on the card.

Failing that, you can use STM (xstm) to get lots of info on your fiber cards - this is on the SUPPORT PLUS CD (Online diagnostics). Install this and then you can use the GUI xstm.
You can also download from software.hp.com
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: Fibre Channel

We use Tachyon Fibre channel cards, and there is a util called fcmsutil, you can run against the dev. fcmsutil /dev/##, will give you some more info such as the world wide address and state of driver.

Just a little diff info.
