Re: file question

What version of HP-UX are you running?

If this is HP-UX 11i V3 (aka 11.31) this could be a file cache issue.

Re: file question

Hi,

"as soon as the backup of a file under /var/x/path completed the backups are slow down."

After this which file is being backup up.
Where is it getting backed up ?
Is it on the external storage or the internal disks (External: Check for load-balancing, H/W errors .)

Please check the memory, cpu and disk utilization at the same time

Disk : sar -d 5 5
CPU: sar -Mu 5 5
Memory: top(check memory section for free memory), vmstat 5 5 (there shud be no-pageouts(po = 0)

Also check for amy H/W error, May be one disk might have failed in the LUN
This might help you to troubleshoot the issue better.
