file "xxx" greater than volume size

Hi ..
i'm using omniback tool to do a backup ...

i got several lines as follows:
BR070W File /oracle/CP1/sapdata8/ypmed_1/ypmed.data1 greater than volume size - trying to back it up anyway.

i have checked the filesistem size and it is 75% used ..

i think the problem is because when you create a user you tell there what is the highest size of files addmited to keep there, i do not know exactly ... do you know what could be ?

1522737152 bytes

i need to check if all of these are in backup or there other ones ....

It's nice to know that you believe that the
capacity of a tape is 80GB. (I assume "GB".)
It would be nicer to know what kind of tape
drive (and tape) you're using, so that I
might be able to determine the _actual_
tape capacity.

This looks to me like (much) more than 80GB,
so you'll probably need to change tapes. Is
this a surprise? Did you read the
explanation of the error message in the
document I cited?

You could, as suggested, break the job into
smaller parts to avoid spanning tapes,
couldn't you?

Hi ..
the total size is:
143256657920 kbyte = 143.2 GB

i have 4 tapes, 80 GB each one.

320 GB

in my undertanding that Omniback load the information into 4 tapes ...
then
what could be the problem here?

how can i know if the tape is corrupted or not using omiback commands? (backups are being done through omniback and i can not use "mtat" command on unix, i have to use a command of Omniback)

Hi,

Should check there is a limitation for file size with HP Unix and Omnibackup.

As far as i know by default the filesystems which is creating in HP unix will allow maximum single file size is 2gb.

We can overcome this by enabling large filesystem.
