Hi

How can I measureware filesystem I/O, using sar command? I can measureware this using glance (gpm), but I want to use sar because it will be use in a script.

Re: filesystem I/O measureware

Hi Marcia,

You can only measure IO per disk using sar/iostat. There are no 'per filesystem' stats available in sar.

You can script 'glance' to get the information.

Re: filesystem I/O measureware

Hi Marcia,

You cannot use sar to get filesystem sprcific stats. "sar -d" would give you isk stats only. You need to use glance and use the glance advisor to script and get the filesystem statistics that you need.

Hope this helps.

Re: filesystem I/O measureware

The closest you can do is sar -d, identify the disks associated with lvol (lvdisplay -v)

Re: filesystem I/O measureware

glance or gpm (x win) has a i/o by filesystem report.

There is a 60 day trail for the product on application cd's.
